Exam Review Power Points:
Take a Trip to STUDY ISLAND!
Study Island is meant to be a comprehensive overview that gives a broad spectrum of content that we have covered in class, either through direct lecture, videos, readings in class or for homework. The idea behind using Study Island as a comprehensive review is that it may discuss things more in depth than we did in class and maybe even ask questions about things that we didn't directly cover. This is why the instructions state that everyone is to read the lessons that come with each quiz and re-read them as needed to be able to answer the quiz questions.
Also important, Study Island ask two types of questions that sometimes throw students off. One type of question is a factual question that has a specific answer. This type of question can be answered directly with factual content found directly in the reading of the lesson. The second type of question is conceptual. This challenges students to have an understanding of facts but more importantly be able to take facts and apply them to broader themes. This is meant to be a challenge and you will not be able to answer all the questions right away. I know it may throw you off a bit but this program is successful and is promoted by WCPSS as valid instructional tool for learning and content review.
